Because gout symptoms initially are usually infrequent, and show up in only one joint, it can at first seem like nothing more than an irritation that must be endured, but will soon pass.
However the truth is that all the time that you have gout, it is causing damage to you, and setting you up for much more serious effects down the track.
Check out this little video which will help you understand the seriousness of the problem, and why you need to cure gout, not endure it!
As you can see from the video gout symptoms can, and does, spread to other joints in the body, and over time it gets progressively worse. Gout Pain moves through various stages, sometimes there is no pain at all, but the damage is still being done. At other times the gout is present occasionally, causing great pain when it is. And when it gets worse the gout pain can be continuous. This is something that you really want to avoid!
The only real option is to take significant steps to cure gout. This can be done completely naturally, although medication is also an option. Watch out with the medication though because gout medication side effects can be serious.
You can cure gout through a well managed gout diet. This is a diet that is low in purines, which are found in all foods, but usually those high in protein.
Another alternative is to look into medication for gout. There are many options available such as allopurinol, colchicine and febuxostat. However you do need to be aware of the potential side effects of gout medication.
Whatever path you choose – you must take action. Not doing so will lead to significant problems further down the track. Bigger problems than you have already!

I just had to look up gout pain because I had no ideal what it is. A friend told me that it might be gout and from the pictures I looked at that’s what my big toe looks like sometimes and pain. I had went to a Dr. before they removed my toe nail but I still had pain in my toe where the nail is just ugly, the nail did grow back but not the same. Sometime half of it just crumbles off and the other part is sore. She gave me some pills and told me that it was just fungus, I took the pills for 12 weeks and it only turned all my nails dark and more pain in my toe. Is there anything that you can help me with? HELP
Well, I’m not a doctor, but this doesn’t really sound like gout to me. In all the gout I’ve had, the toenail has not been affected. Where is your pain? Gout pain will normally be in the big toe joint (where the toe joins the foot). And it can spread, but usually towards your ankle. It’s an internal problem… right in the joints. I really think you should be going back to your doctor and asking her.
